WHAT IS PLECHNER’S SYNDROME?

This is a common syndrome in animals and people that has never been diagnosed before. This syndrome involves the production of a deficient or defective cortisol from the middle layer of the adrenal cortex, with the pituitary gland producing ACTH to insure the production of more active cortisol.

WHY SHOULD YOU BE TOLD THAT YOU NEED TO HAVE AN ACTH STIMULATION DONE?

What if this is inactive cortisol? Why give ACTH to enhance the increased release of inactive cortisol when the veterinarians have no idea if this will hurt your pet. The MD’s, realize doing this ACTH stimulation on their patient could be harmful.
