Over the years I’ve found that one of the things new dog owners always seem to be searching for is “The” cure for their dog’s bad behavior. When I say bad behavior that covers all sorts of things from barking, jumping, soiling in the house, you name it. When the dog gets a little older, if bad behaviors are not corrected, it seems that the behavior quite often turns to the fearful dog or the aggressive dog.

Curing all those bad behaviors is not particularly difficult but ideally the training should start early sometime between 4 to 6 months of age. The reason we start early is to teach good behavior before your beloved pet learns the bad behavior.

Even though selecting the right breed of dog for you and your family seems like it should be easy in all actuality it is not. There are so many breeds to choose from with so many different characteristics. However if you’ll follow some of the tips below and take time to do some research I know you can find the right dog.

So let’s start off with, are you thinking about a big dog are little dog? A lot of that depends on where you house the dog. Do you live in a small apartment, or do have a house with a nice backyard, or possibly do live in the country. These are all things to think about when you’re selecting a dog.

Many stay in shelters or worse waiting for a good, loving home that may or may not ever happen. More people than ever are helping by rescuing dogs or cats from shelters but if they don’t know what to look for, they may end up unhappy or even worst, by bringing the animal back to the shelter which is emotionally traumatizing and devastating to the animal.
